Today’s Xfinity race at Iowa: Start time, lineup and more

The last time a driver other than Reddick, Bell or Custer won a NXS race was nearly three months ago (March 31), when Kyle Busch won at Texas.

Reddick has won three of the last seven races, including last Saturday’s win at Michigan International Speedway.

Will the combined winning streak by Reddick, Bell and Custer continue today at Iowa Speedway?

Here’s all the info for today’s CircuitCity.com 250:

START: Ronny Shmoel, CEO of Circuit City, and Kai Leung, Tamron North American Business Manager, will give the command to start engines at 5:38 p.m. The green flag is scheduled for 5:45 p.m.

PRERACE: Qualifying is at 2:35 p.m.; single car/two laps (FS2, no radio). Driver/crew chief meeting is at 3:30 p.m. Driver introductions are at 5 p.m. The invocation will be given at 5:30 p.m. by Aaron Loree. First Lt. Kyle Patterson, 224th Brigade Engineer Battalion, will perform the National Anthem at 5:31 p.m.

DISTANCE: The race is 250 laps (218.75 miles) around the 7/8-mile track.

STAGES: Stage 1 ends on Lap 60. Stage 2 ends on Lap 120.

TV/RADIO: FS1 will televise the race. Coverage begins at 5 p.m. The Motor Racing Network’s radio broadcast begins at 5 p.m. and also can be heard at mrn.com. SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will carry MRN’s broadcast.

FORECAST: wunderground.com calls for partly cloudy skies with a high of 77 degrees and a 14 percent chance of rain for the start of the race.

LAST TIME: Justin Allgaier won this race a year ago and was followed by Christopher Bell and Daniel Hemric. Five races later, Bell returned to Iowa to claim the win, followed by Allgaier and Kyle Benjamin.

STARTING LINEUP: We’ll have the starting lineup following qualifying at 2:35 p.m. ET.

Weather played a significant factor in Saturday’s Iowa Speedway on-track activity.

NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series qualifying was canceled and the lineup was set by the rule book — putting the No. 51 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota of Chandler Smith in the top starting spot for tonight’s scheduled M&M’s 200 presented by Casey’s General Store (8:30 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio). Smith is making his national series debut in this race and topped opening practice. Tonight’s Gander Trucks race is the second event in the three-race Triple Truck Challenge, which awards a $50,000 bonus to the race winner.

The opening Xfinity Series practice session at Iowa Speedway was moved to 5:30 p.m. ET, from an original 3:05 p.m ET slate but was also shortened due to lightning and rain. Weather also forced the final Xfinity Series practice slated for 7:05 p.m. ET to be canceled.

This weekend’s race at Iowa marks the 14th race of the season for the Xfinity Series. Defending series champion Tyler Reddick is atop the standings followed by Christopher Bell and Cole Custer. The three drivers have totaled nine wins so far this season.

Sunday will see the Xfinity drivers qualify (2:35 p.m. ET, FS2) with the CircuitCity.com 250 Presented by Tamron at 5:30 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Gander Trucks race at Iowa delayed by inclement weather

The start of the Gander Outdoors Truck Series race on Saturday at Iowa Speedway was delayed because of inclement weather. The original green flag time of 8:38 p.m. ET passed without drivers getting on the track.

After efforts were made to dry the race track, the decision was made to postpone the race until Sunday at noon ET with coverage on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

When the race gets underway, Chandler Smith will lead the field to green in the No. 51 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota. Smith earned the pole based on owner points because qualifying was rained out.

Grant Enfinger will join Smith on the front row in the No. 98 ThorSport Racing Ford.

The NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series M&M’s 200 at Iowa Speedway has been postponed due to inclement weather.

The race has been rescheduled for Sunday, June 16 at noon ET, airing live on FS1 and MRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Chandler Smith will lead the field to the green flag in the No. 51 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota Tundra following the cancellation of qualifying. Per the NASCAR Rule Book, the starting lineup was set by owner points.

Sunday’s race is the second of three races in the Triple Truck Challenge as the race winner will receive an extra $50,000 bonus.

The M&M’s 200 will be followed up with the NASCAR Xfinity Series CircuitCity.com 250 Presented by Tamron from Iowa at 5:30 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
